WINE COUNTRY: SEX OFFENDER ARRESTED AGAIN
A registered sex offender recently released from prison was arrested Thursday at his home in the Wine Country area near Temecula, authorities said.
Daniel Leroy Adams, 51, is accused of violating the terms of his parole, according to a news release from the Sexual Assault Felony Enforcement Task Force, a Riverside County-based multi-agency law team. SAFE investigators searched Adams’ home and discovered a “hidden wireless access device,” the release stated.
The terms of Adams’ parole prohibit him from having personal access to the Internet and possessing or viewing pornography, the release stated. Adams had recently viewed and downloaded sexually explicit images from the Internet, the release stated.
Adams is designated a “high-risk” sex offender by the state parole department, the release said. Authorities had issued a public notification in November announcing that Adams, who was outfitted with an ankle GPS monitoring device, was again living at his home in the Wine Country area.
Riverside County sheriff’s officials said Adams would sneak into businesses and homes to secretly watch or photograph women for sexual gratification. When he was arrested and charged in 2007, sheriff’s officials said he prowled in and around guest rooms at the South Coast Winery and snuck into a woman’s private room at a Temecula tanning salon.
He had two prior convictions for similar offenses, the Sheriff’s Department said.
